The ants are able to store the abundance of seeds in certain seasons of the year to feed in periods in which the food is scarce.
In fact some species of ants have specialized in the collection of grain developed breeds of workers with large jaws to dedicate themselves from the seeds they collect.

The harvested seeds are preserved in the "Warehouse" .
